PLASS by Foscarini, Polycarbonate Lamp Shades Inspired by Murano Glass
Seen from afar, they are like glass lamps. These lamp shades are made of polycarbonate with rotation moulding technique, named Plass. According to the designer Luca Nichetto, Plass is a fusion of two words GLASS and PLASTIC, to convey the fusion between two very different processes and materials.
Inspired by Murano glass and Venetian craftsmanship, use of contemporary materials and process: rotationally-molded polycarbonate, is a great combination of the two differences.
When the lamp is off, we can see the true colors, but when the lights turned on the light colors become paler. When viewed up close, it looks little bubbles in the polycarbonate formed in the manufacturing process. Decoration is a decoration within.
Use of this lamp in a small room, creating a beautiful silhouette on the wall. Creating unique decoration with the play of light.
